SharePoint Branding Congressional Collaboration Center

This project was a POC (proof of concept) for the Congressional Collaboration Center.  Design to be a collaboration space for employees of the congress of the United States, I created an appealing design that did not get in the way of SharePoint’s collaborative tools.  This project included logo, banner, master page, and design assets.  The end result was a very functional but visually stunning collaboration space.  During this project I suggested several changes to improve the usability of the space as well as promote increased user adoption of the tools. read more…

NRCC SharePoint Branding Project

NRCC (National Republican Congressional Committee) was looking for a branding solution for their SharePoint 2007 (MOSS) environment.  Primarily a collaboration space for project teams, I created a style that would communicate the NRCC brand without disrupting their ability to use the collaboration tools.  The deliverables included both a master page and matching theme. read more…

This post was inspired by a discussion I got involved with on Craig Wright’s SharePointalism blog.  The subject of process and specifically wireframes came up and as designers I think we all agree that the “Design Process” is vitally important to protecting ourselves and our clients.  The conversation made me start to think about how I handle specific areas of the design process differently in SharePoint engagements than I might in a straight web design gig and it seemed worth blogging about. read more…
